As per reports, as of 0400 hours local time on Thursday (03 July), a Ground Delay Program (GDP) has been implemented at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) due to weather and strong winds. This means many flights departing from other US airports and heading to Phoenix may face delays before they are allowed to take off.
• Reports indicate that some arriving flights are delayed an average of one hour and 25 minutes. Arrivals at Phoenix are limited to 40 flights per hour.
• Between 0900 hours local time on Wednesday (02 July) to 0900 hours local time on Friday (04 July), almost 70 flights have been delayed and two have been cancelled.
• The airlines that have been impacted include: Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, Frontier Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Delta Air Lines, Alaska and Airlines.
