As per reports, for the second consecutive day, flight operations at Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) have been significantly disrupted due to adverse winter weather conditions as of Thursday (20 February).
• As a winter weather system moved through central North Carolina which led to snowfall and icy precipitation, over 70 flights scheduled for arrival or departure at RDU were cancelled on Wednesday (19 February).
• With freezing conditions expected to persist overnight and into the morning of Thursday (20 February), additional cancellations have been reported.
• As of late Wednesday (19 February), at least 30 flights have been cancelled, primarily affecting American Airlines routes from RDU to major destinations, including Charlotte, Dallas-Fort Worth, Miami, and New York City airports.
• Further disruptions are anticipated for Thursday (20 February), with six flights, primarily operated by Southwest Airlines, already marked as delayed.
