As per reports, a fire broke out in a 160 megavolt ampere (MVA) power transformer at the 220/132 kilovolt (kV) Gurur substation in the Bohradih-Mujgahan area of Balod District, Chhattisgarh, on Thursday (17 September).
• A large plume of smoke was reportedly visible from the substation following the incident. The fire prompted a response from Gurur Police and electricity-department personnel, while safety measures were initiated at the facility.
• Following the fire, the load on all 132 kV feeders originating from the substation was reportedly normalised. The exact cause of the fire remains unclear.
