Fire incident reported in Gyeonggi-do on Tuesday (31 March)

As per reports, a fire outbreak following an explosion broke out at a factory in Hongjuk-ri, Baekseok-eup, Yangju-si in Gyeonggi-do at around 1549 hours (local time) on Tuesday (31 March). As a result, around three injuries were reported, and 17 others were evacuated from the affected factory.

The fire department issued a Level 1 response at approximately 1611 hours (local time), deploying 97 personnel and 40 pieces of equipment to contain the incident.

• Yangju City also issued a disaster alert, advising motorists to avoid the area, including evacuation procedures for nearby residents.
• Authorities will reportedly investigate the exact cause of the incident once the fire is fully extinguished, following reports that the blaze may have been triggered by an explosion.
