As per reports, a residential fire broke out on the thirteenth floor of an apartment building in Deungchon-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, at approximately 2000 hours (local time) on Tuesday (30 December).

According to fire authorities, a male resident, around 50 years old, was found deceased at the scene. Five other residents were evacuated as a precaution.

• Firefighters deployed emergency response units and successfully extinguished the blaze within approximately 30 minutes.
• Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire and assessing the extent of structural damage.
