As per reports, a fire broke out in the Sitio Sayco area, Barangay Basak San Nicolas, Cebu City on Thursday (27 June) evening. The fire originated from a house, and spread to at least 27 neighbouring houses; 21 houses were completely destroyed, while six sustained varying levels of fire damage.

Fire fighters managed to contain the blaze after a few hours. One person was injured in the incident, while at least 108 persons have been rendered displaced. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
