As per reports, during the night hours (local time) of Wednesday (09 September), fire reportedly broke out at the Shyam Sangini Textile Market in the Saroli area of Surat, Gujarat. Firefighters reportedly found the fourth and fifth floors of the textile market completely engulfed in flames, with thick smoke billowing from the building. Hydraulic platforms were deployed by firefighters to control the blaze.
Emergency response operations are ongoing at the affected textile market, with firefighting personnel working to contain the blaze and prevent further spread. Further details regarding casualties, damage and the cause of the fire have not been confirmed.
