According to reports, a fire broke out at the Xiang Xiang restaurant on the 46th floor of Breeze Xinyi Department Store in Xinyi District, Taipei City, on Monday (13 April) at approximately 1126 hours (local time).
• Upon receiving the alert, the Taipei City Fire Department deployed four command vehicles, 17 fire trucks, five ambulances, and 67 personnel to the location. Firefighters were able to bring the situation under control promptly, and the fire was fully extinguished by 1145 hours (local time).
• A total of 312 individuals were evacuated safely from the premises, and five individuals were transported to the hospital due to smoke inhalation.
• Preliminary findings indicate that the fire likely originated from the kitchen exhaust pipe, which resulted in significant smoke accumulation. The affected area was limited to approximately five square meters, with damage reported to stoves and related kitchen equipment.
• Authorities are continuing to assess the situation and ensure safety compliance.
