As per reports, on Monday (23 December), the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) staged a sit-in protest at Gandhi Park in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, demanding the enactment of a Minimum Support Price (MSP) guarantee law, in support of Ranjit Singh Dallewal currently on a hunger strike.
The farmers further demanded payment of pending sugarcane dues, declaration of sugarcane prices at INR 500 per quintal, and a reduction in fertilizer prices, during the protest.
