According to reports, student groups from Universitas Nasional (UNAS) and Aliansi PWKS have called for a demonstration to commemorate National Farmers’ Day in Central Jakarta on Thursday (24 September). The gathering is scheduled to commence at 1000 hours (local time) outside the DPR/MPR RI Building on Jalan Jenderal Gatot Subroto.
The protest is expected to draw university students, agrarian worker organisations, and civil society advocates. Protesters are expected to call for an end to the forced acquisition and monopolisation of public land, the implementation of comprehensive and equitable land restitution and redistribution measures, and the resolution of ongoing agrarian conflicts across Indonesia.
• Areas likely to be affected:
– DPR/MPR RI Building frontage (Jl. Jenderal Gatot Subroto).
– Palmerah and Jl. Gelora areas.
– Senayan Flyover and Inner Ring Toll Road access points.
– Semanggi Interchange and surrounding road networks along the Jl. Jenderal Gatot Subroto corridor towards Slipi.
• Alternative Routes:
– Motorists travelling from Semanggi towards Grogol may use Jalan Asia Afrika, Jalan Gelora, and Jalan Palmerah Utara, or utilise the Inner Ring Road toll route.
– North-south traffic may be diverted via Jalan K.H. Mas Mansyur or Jalan Prof. Dr. Satrio.
