Expanded Bastille Day military parade scheduled in Paris on 14 July

As per reports, French authorities have announced that the annual Bastille Day military parade on 14 July will feature an expanded format centered on the theme of Europe’s strategic awakening and collective security.

• The event, which will take place along the Champs-Élysées in Paris, will involve approximately 8,500 participants, including around 6,500 marching personnel, nearly 300 military vehicles, 95 aircraft, 35 helicopters, and 193 horses from the Republican Guard.
• According to French military officials, the parade is intended to demonstrate France’s commitment to European security and defence cooperation amid ongoing geopolitical tensions across the continent.
• Ukraine will be prominently honored during the event, with the aerial display opening with aircraft crews comprising Franco-Ukrainian personnel. Representatives from the 35-member Coalition of the Willing, established to support Ukraine’s long-term security, have also been invited to participate.
• The event is expected to attract senior French government officials, foreign dignitaries, military delegations, and international media. Among the invited guests are senior European Union and NATO representatives. French military units deployed as part of NATO missions on the alliance’s eastern flank, including deployments in Romania and Estonia, are also scheduled to participate.
• The military parade is expected to last approximately two hours and will be accompanied by extensive security measures, crowd-control operations, and traffic restrictions throughout central Paris.
