Evacuation orders put in place for wildfire burning west of Berthoud as of Monday (17 March)

As per reports, Larimer County emergency officials have issued evacuation orders on Monday (17 March) due to an active wildfire burning west of Berthoud, Colorado.

• At approximately 1340 hours (local time) mandatory evacuations were ordered for residents in the area surrounding the 5300-block of West County Road 8E. The mandatory evacuation zone extends between Homer Road on the north to County Road 6 on the south.
• A voluntary evacuation notice was subsequently issued at approximately 1345 hours (local time) for a larger area which includes Lonetree Reservoir and Welch Reservoir.
• The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office has established a large animal evacuation center at the Ranch, located in Loveland. Additionally, westbound County Road 8E has been closed at County Road 23 due to the fire.
