As per reports, at least eight people were killed and 45 were injured in a road accident reported on SR 40 in Marion County, Florida, at about 0635 hours local time on Tuesday (14 May).

Official announced that West Highway 40 is closed in the area, and will be for most of the day. A detour is in place. Florida Highway Patrol is on the scene investigating.
