Earthquake of magnitude 4.4 reported off Chiapas on Tuesday (15 September)

As per reports, a magnitude 4.4 earthquake occurred at 1144 hours local time (1744 hours UTC) on Tuesday (15 September), approximately 120 kilometres southwest of Ciudad Hidalgo, Chiapas, at a depth of 12.1 kilometres.

• Reports indicate that light shaking was recorded near the epicentre, with no user reports of the earthquake being felt at the time of reporting.
• The Servicio Sismológico Nacional reported additional seismic activity in the Ciudad Hidalgo area, including a magnitude 4.1 earthquake approximately 46 kilometres southwest of the city earlier on Tuesday (15 September).
