According to reports, a strong dust storm and rainfall was reported in Mumbai on Monday (13 May). The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) nowcast section has also issued a yellow alert for Mumbai and Mumbai Suburban on Monday (13 May) at 1600 hours.
• The IMD warning states that thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and light to moderate spells of rain along with gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph are very likely to occur at isolated places; https://mausam.imd.gov.in/imd_latest/contents/districtwisewarnings_mc.php?id=21
• Heavy rainfall was also reported in the western suburbs of Borivali, Kandivali, Malad and Goregaon area. Power supply disruptions were also witnessed from some parts of Navi Mumbai.
• The Mumbai Traffic Police on its social media account on ‘X’ has also reported traffic movement to be slow at Kamraj Nagar north bound due to a hoarding falling.
• Flight operations have also been reportedly been temporarily suspended at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Monday (13 May).
