As per reports, Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin issued a decree on the emergency alert status for drought and forest and land fires in 27 regencies/cities during the ongoing dry season. He stated that the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) estimates that the potential for drought in the West Java (Jabar) region will last for a long time.

The emergency alert status for drought and forest and land fires is valid till 30 September.
