As per reports, several parts of Guwahati remained waterlogged on Tuesday (06 August) following heavy rainfall on Monday (05 August). Assam’s Urban Affairs Minister, Ashok Singhal, announced that a thorough discussion on the situation will be held on Wednesday (07 August). Residents of Rukminigaon protested the frequent flooding, while traffic authorities have diverted vehicles from the Supermarket Flyover to Last Gate due to waterlogging.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), yellow alert for heavy rainfall is active in Guwahati, Kamrup district.
