As per reports, Delhi Water Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi, amidst the city’s ongoing water crisis, continued her hunger strike for the third day on Sunday (23 June). In response to questions regarding her health, she stated that she will continue her strike indefinitely until the Haryana Government releases water from the Hathnikund barrage of the Yamuna River. Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] General Secretary, D Raja, expressed support for the AAP’s protest, while CPI(M) politburo member Subhashini Ali joined the fast.

On Sunday (23 June), a delegation of senior AAP members of parliament (MPs) and legislators also met Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena seeking his intervention in getting raw water from Haryana for a one-week period, till the arrival of monsoon.
