As per reports, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) has ordered immediate evacuation of residents in riverside and low-lying areas across seven districts of Ratchaburi on Tuesday (29 September), following possible flood risk due to rising water levels in the Mae Klong River.
• The Mae Klong Dam increased its water discharge to 2,000 cubic metres per second at 1300 hours (local time), with the discharge potentially rising further to 3,000 cubic metres per second.
• The warning covers Ban Pong, Photharam, Mueang Ratchaburi, Bang Phae, Damnoen Saduak, Wat Phleng and Pak Tho districts.
• The DDPM advised residents in the affected areas to evacuate immediately, with children, patients and elderly persons to be evacuated first. Residents were also advised to move vehicles, pets and belongings to safer areas and disconnect electricity supplies.
