The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the following weather warnings across West Bengal for Sunday (02 August) through the district-wise PDF document that was issued at Saturday (01 August) night:
• Forecast: An orange alert has been issued for heavy rainfall of 07 to 20 centimeters, which is very likely to occur at one or two places in Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, and Cooch Behar on Sunday (02 August).
• Forecast: A yellow alert has been issued for thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour, which are very likely to occur at one or two places in South 24 Parganas, Purba Medinipur, Paschim Medinipur, Bankura, Purba Bardhaman, Paschim Bardhaman, Birbhum, and Murshidabad on Sunday (02 August).
• Forecast: A yellow alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rainfall of 07 to 20 centimeters, which is very likely to occur at one or two places in Uttar Dinajpur on Sunday (02 August).
• Nowcast: A yellow alert has been issued for light rainfall of less than 05 millimeters per hour and light thunderstorms with maximum surface wind speeds of less than 40 kilometers per hour in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, Uttar Dinajpur, and Cooch Behar. The alert is valid until 0600 hours (local time) on Sunday (02 August).
