The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the following Forecast and Nowcast warnings for Uttarakhand on Thursday (17 September), as per the District-wise forecast PDF document issued at 1800 hours (local time) on Wednesday (16 September).
• Forecast: A yellow alert for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and intense to very intense spells of rainfall at isolated places has been issued for the hilly districts of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Tehri Garhwal, Dehradun, Pauri Garhwal, Almora, Nainital, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar and Champawat.
• Forecast: No colour-coded warning has been issued for Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar.
• Nowcast: No colour-coded warning has been issued. The update is valid until 0400 hours (local time) on Thursday (17 September).
