The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the following Forecast and Nowcast warnings for Tamil Nadu on Wednesday (14 October).
• Forecast: A yellow alert for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and squalls has been issued across all districts of Tamil Nadu.
• Nowcast: A yellow alert has been issued for moderate rainfall ranging from 05 to 15 millimetres per hour, accompanied by light thunderstorms and maximum surface wind speeds below 40 kilometres per hour in Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Tirunelveli, Puducherry, Kanniyakumari and Cuddalore. The alert is valid until 0400 hours (local time) on Wednesday (14 October).
