The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the following Forecast warning and Nowcast update for Tamil Nadu on Tuesday (29 September), as per the latest updates issued on Monday (28 September).
• Warning: A yellow alert has been issued for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and squalls for Ariyalur, Chengalpattu, Chennai, Coimbatore, Cuddalore, Dharmapuri, Dindigul, Erode, Kallakurichi, Kanchipuram, Kanyakumari, Karur, Krishnagiri, Madurai, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Namakkal, Nilgiris, Perambalur, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Ranipet, Salem, Sivaganga, Tenkasi, Thanjavur, Theni, Thoothukudi, Tiruchirappalli, Tirunelveli, Tirupathur, Tiruppur, Tiruvallur, Tiruvannamalai, Tiruvarur, Vellore, Viluppuram, and Virudhunagar on Tuesday (29 September).
• Nowcast: An orange alert has been issued for moderate rainfall, moderate thunderstorms and winds of 41 to 61 kilometers per hour for Ranipet, Tiruvallur, Virudhunagar and Madurai, valid till 0400 hours (local time) on Tuesday (29 September).
• Nowcast: A yellow alert has been issued for light to moderate rainfall, light thunderstorms and winds of less than 40 kilometers per hour for Erode, Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Tirupathur, Vellore, Kanchipuram and Pudukkottai, valid till 0400 hours (local time) on Tuesday (29 September).
