The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the following Forecast and Nowcast warnings for Tamil Nadu on Saturday (12 September) as per the latest updates issued on Friday (11 September).
• Warning: A yellow alert has been issued for thunderstorms, lightning and squalls in all districts of Tamil Nadu on Saturday (12 September).
• Nowcast: A yellow alert has been issued for light rainfall of less than 05 millimeters per hour and light thunderstorms with a maximum surface wind speed of less than 40 kilometers per hour in Tiruchirappalli, Madurai, Karur, Perambalur, Chengalpattu, Tiruvannamalai, Kancheepuram, and Viluppuram. The alert is valid until 0400 hours (local time) on Saturday (12 September).
