The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the following Forecast and Nowcast warnings for Maharashtra on Wednesday (30 September), as per the District-wise forecast PDF document issued at 1140 hours (local time) on Tuesday (29 September).
• Forecast: A yellow alert for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds reaching 30 to 40 kilometres per hour at isolated places has been issued for Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, Ghats of Kolhapur and Satara, while a yellow alert for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds reaching 40 to 50 kilometres per hour at isolated places has been issued for the Ghats of Satara.
• Forecast: No colour-coded warning has been issued for the remaining districts of Maharashtra.
• Nowcast: A yellow alert for light rainfall measuring less than five millimetres per hour and light thunderstorms with maximum surface wind speeds below 40 kilometres per hour has been issued for Pune. The alert is valid until 0400 hours (local time) on Wednesday (30 September).
