The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the following Forecast and Nowcast warnings for parts of Maharashtra on Sunday (13 September), as per the district-wise forecast PDF issued at 1800 hours (local time) on Saturday (12 September).
• Forecast: An orange alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rainfall, thunderstorms with lightning, and gusty winds of 40 to 50 kilometres per hour at isolated places in Dhule, Nandurbar, and the Ghats of Nashik.
• Forecast: A yellow alert has been issued for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall, and gusty winds of 30 to 50 kilometres per hour at isolated places in Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Jalgaon, Nashik, Ahilyanagar, Pune, the Ghats of Pune, Satara, the Ghats of Satara, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli, Akola, Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, Wardha, Washim, and Yavatmal.
• Nowcast: A yellow alert has been issued for light rainfall of less than 05 millimeters per hour, moderate rainfall between 05 and 15 millimeters per hour, light thunderstorms, and winds of less than 40 kilometers per hour in Nandurbar, Nanded, Dhule, Jalgaon, Latur, Buldhana, Akola, Washim, Dharashiv, Hingoli, Amravati, Yavatmal, Wardha, Nagpur, Bhandara, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, and Gondia. The alert is valid until 0400 hours (local time) on Sunday (13 September).
