The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the following Forecast and Nowcast warnings for Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday (13 August), as per the latest updates issued on Wednesday (12 August).

• Forecast: An orange alert has been issued for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, and squalls in Kishtwar, Doda, Kathua, Udhampur, Samba, Ramban, Jammu, Reasi, Rajouri and Poonch.
• Forecast: A yellow alert has been issued for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and squalls in Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Srinagar, Shopian, Budgam, Pulwama, Kulgam and Anantnag.
• Nowcast: An orange alert has been issued for moderate rainfall of 05 to 15 millimeters per hour in Poonch and Rajouri. The alert is valid until 0550 hours (local time) on Thursday (13 August).
• Nowcast: A yellow alert has been issued for light rainfall of less than 05 millimeters per hour and light thunderstorms with maximum surface wind speeds of less than 40 kilometers per hour in Ganderbal, Baramulla, Anantnag, and Reasi. The alert is valid until 0546 hours (local time) on Thursday (13 August).
