The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the following Forecast and Nowcast warnings for Ahmedabad on Monday (27 July) as per the District-wise forecast PDF document issued at 1200 hours (local time) on Sunday (26 July).

• Forecast: A yellow alert for light thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, surface winds of 30 to 40 kilometres per hour, and light to moderate rainfall at isolated places has been issued for Ahmedabad.
• Nowcast: An orange alert for moderate rainfall measuring five to 15 millimetres per hour, moderate thunderstorms with maximum surface wind speeds ranging from 41 to 61 kilometres per hour in gusts and moderate cloud-to-ground lightning with a probability of 30 to 60 per cent has been issued for Ahmedabad. The alert is valid until 0700 hours (local time) on Monday (27 July).
• Major disruptions: Floodwater was receding across Ahmedabad district on Sunday (26 July), and the Ahmedabad-Bagodara and Sanand-Viramgam highway stretches reopened, with normal vehicular movement reported. However, approximately 25 to 27 villages in the Sanand-Bavla-Dholka region remained waterlogged. Within Ahmedabad city, the municipal corporation deployed 24 teams across 20 waterlogged locations in 10 wards and carried out drainage operations in affected pockets, including Bopal and Ghuma. Industrial disruption remains significant in Sanand GIDC, where power supply failure has forced nearly 50 factories to suspend operations, floodwater has entered at least 10 major units, and direct losses are initially estimated at more than ₹100 crore. The Sanand Industries Association has announced a rally on Monday (27 July) regarding drainage and infrastructure concerns.
