As per reports, the Customs Department at Mumbai’s international airport seized hydroponic weed valued at INR 12.4 crore. This operation, conducted over four days with intelligence-based intercepts, targeted passengers arriving from Bangkok. Hydroponic weed hidden in trolley bags was the highlight, leading to the arrest of six passengers under the NDPS ( Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act, 1985, revealing an intricate smuggling racket.
Additionally, valuables including 40 iPhones, 30 laptops, and other goods worth INR 56 lakh were confiscated from three Sharjah-bound passengers, signaling ongoing smuggling inquiries under the Customs Act.
