As per reports, around 100 members of the Union of Canadian Correctional Officers will organize a protest outside the Pacific regional headquarters of the Correctional Service of Canada in Abbotsford on Thursday (18 April).
• According to organizers, the demonstration will be held to highlight the violence experienced by its members, who often sustain injuries while on the job.
• The organizers denounce significant rise in violent incidents against guards across the country, with officers being frequently subjected to assaults, resulting in physical and mental injuries.
