According to reports, the Director General of Police Arun Kumar Sarangi stated on Thursday (08 August) that the coastal and marine police have been asked to remain alert in view of possible infiltration attempts by Bangladeshi nationals into Odisha following the ongoing crisis in the country. There are 18 police stations in the seven coastal districts. Of the 18 police stations, nine marine police stations are in Balasore, Bhadrak and Kendrapara which are closer to Bangladesh and have been provided with additional manpower to maintain vigilance.
Patrolling activities have intensified in the sea to five nautical miles while a 24*7 control room has also been opened in the office of the ADG and coastal security as well.
