CMA issued blue warning for heavy rainfall in parts of China between 01-04 July - datasurfr

The China Meteorological Observatory (CMO) has forecast heavy rainfall across parts of Northeast China, North China, and the Sichuan Basin, and the surrounding areas over the next three days, starting Tuesday (01 July).

The CMO has further issued a blue warning for heavy rainfall at 0600 hours on Tuesday (01 July). The details are as follows:

• From Tuesday to Wednesday (01-02 July), heavy to torrential rainfall is expected in parts of eastern Hebei, southern Tianjin, northern Shandong, western and northern Henan, eastern Inner Mongolia, southern Heilongjiang, northern Jilin, central and eastern Liaoning, southern Yunnan, western and southern Guangxi, and Hainan Island.
• Localised torrential rainfall (100-120 mm) may occur in northern Shandong and western Hainan Island. These areas may also experience short-term heavy precipitation (20-50 mm/hour, locally over 70 mm/hour), thunderstorms, and gales.
• From Wednesday to Thursday (02-03 July), moderate to heavy rainfall will affect most parts of Liaoning, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, northern Shandong, Shanxi, Shaanxi, southeastern Gansu, northwestern Sichuan Basin, Yunnan, and Hainan Island. Heavy to torrential rainfall (100–150 mm) is expected in central/southern/northeastern Hebei, Tianjin, and northwestern Sichuan Basin.
• From Thursday to Friday (03-04 July), moderate to heavy rain will occur in eastern and south-central Northeast China, eastern North China, eastern Northwest China, western Sichuan Basin, and Yunnan, with localised heavy rain/torrential rain (100-150 mm). Winds of scale five-six are forecast in parts of the southern Xinjiang Basin.
