As per reports, clashes were witnessed in Raipura Upazila of Narsingdi on Sunday (26 January) between two factions of the Awami League (AL) from morning hours until 1100 hours. During the clashes, two people were killed while 10 others sustained injuries. The clashes took place between supporters of former Bashgari Union Parishad Chairman Ashraful Haque Sarkar and current Chairman Zakir Hasan Ratul.
Chairman Ratul claimed that there are no disputes with the former Chairman Haque Sarkar, and has claimed no involvement in the clashes.
