As per reports, the All-India Tourist Permit Bus Owners Association (AITPBO) has announced a halt to sleeper bus operations statewide from midnight on Friday (31 October).

• Approximately 8,000 sleeper buses will cease services affecting around three lakh daily passengers who rely on these buses for inter-state and intra-state travel.
• Alongside, several private bus operators have also suspended online bookings due to increasing enforcement actions by the Transport Department following safety concerns highlighted by recent bus fire incidents, including the Tuesday (14 October) Jaisalmer incident.
• The association cites heavy fines and bus seizures affecting operators as primary reasons for the strike and demands equitable enforcement of rules on private and government buses, along with adjustments to registration taxes, permits, and fare rates.
• A potential escalation to a complete statewide bus strike involving over 20,000 private buses is warned from Sunday (02 November) if demands are not addressed.
• The Rajasthan Bus Operators Association has also warned of a road blockade from Sunday (02 November).
