• Emergency responders were initially dispatched following reports of falling bricks from the building.
• Officials stated that the building remains structurally unstable and continued movement has delayed stabilization works.
• A localized structural collapse remains possible. However, authorities have indicated that a total building collapse is not anticipated due to the steel-frame construction.
• The incident prompted the evacuation of the construction site and at least eight surrounding buildings.
• No injuries have been reported and all construction workers have been accounted for.
• Authorities established an exclusion zone covering East 40th Street to East 45th Street between First Avenue and Third Avenue.
