As per reports, a section of King Street in Charleston, South Carolina, reportedly remains closed since Monday morning (03 November) as city officials prepare for the demolition of a structurally compromised building at 1001 King Street.

• Authorities have closed Grove Street, Francis Street, and Cleveland Street in the King Street area. While Rodney Scott’s BBQ and Artist & Craftsman Supply remain open, the BBQ restaurant’s drive-through and outdoor areas are closed until demolition work concludes.
• City engineers and contractors are assessing the demolition plan, expected to take several days, with ongoing efforts to reopen partial traffic lanes once protective barriers and fencing are installed.
• Officials have urged the public to avoid the area due to the imminent risk of debris or structural collapse. No timeline has yet been confirmed for the completion of demolition or reopening of King Street.
