As per reports, the State Route 17, Brookpark Road Bridge between West 220th Street and NASA Parkway, over Valley Parkway and the Cleveland Metroparks, was closed effective immediately on Friday (04 September) after further structural analysis identified extensive deterioration in the floor beams supporting the driving surface.
• Reports indicate that the closure is in effect until further notice, with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and consultants evaluating short and long term options. A major rehabilitation project had previously been planned for 2028.
• Eastbound traffic is being diverted via Clague Road to Interstate 480 (I-480) east and then to the State Route 17 and State Route 237 exit. Westbound traffic is being diverted via Grayton Road to I-480 west, Clague Road and Brookpark Road.
