BMKG anticipates tidal flooding in Jakarta on Sunday (19 April)

As per reports, the North Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency has mapped a number of locations prone to tidal flooding or coastal flooding in the northern Jakarta region.

• Head of the Drainage Maintenance Section of the North Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency also put on standby 150 Blue Troop personnel, 20 floating pump units, 16 mobile pump units and eight pump stations complete with operators to suck up the floodwaters.
• BMKG predicts the potential for tidal flooding is predicted to occur on Sunday (19 April) with sea level reaching around 1.15 meters.
• A number of tidal flood-prone areas are spread across several areas of North Jakarta, such as Penjaringan District, including Kapuk Raya, Muara Angke, Nizam Zachman Port, the Baywalk Pluit area, and the Pelindo Muara Baru embankment.
• Then, in Pademangan District, flooding usually occurs on Jalan Lodan Raya, North East Ancol, and Jalan Ketel Uap. For Cilincing District, areas that need to be watched out for include Marunda Pulo and Marunda Makmur, especially around MTs Al Kasyaf.
• Meanwhile, in Tanjung Priok and Koja Districts, the flood-prone areas are on Jalan RE Martadinata and Jalan Arteri Kali Sunter.
