The China Meteorological Administration (CMA) has issued a yellow alert for flash flood risk in western Sichuan, eastern Chongqing, and southwestern Hubei, and a blue alert for southeastern Tibet, on Sunday and Monday (20 – 21 September).
The CMA advised that other areas may also experience flash floods due to localized heavy rainfall. Authorities have been urged to strengthen real-time monitoring, flood warnings, evacuation and shelter measures.
