As per reports, workers of the Kohinoor Chemical Company blockaded the Mohakhali-Satrasta road in Dhaka on Tuesday (22 April) night to protest against blasphemous remarks against Islam allegedly made by a senior company official. Workers, demanding the death penalty for the official, attempted to break the main gate of Kohinoor Chemical Company and enter the premises, leading to police action.

The blockade was cleared by a joint operation by the Tejgaon Industrial Area police and the army. Additional police remain deployed in the area to prevent further unrest. The company has dismissed the company official who allegedly made the statement and is being probed by the police.
