According to reports, a local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was shot by unidentified men at Kanke Chowk in Ranchi, on Wednesday (26 March).
• The shooting resulted in protests and road blockades in the area, prompting local authorities to rush in police reinforcements – including central police forces.
• In protest against the murder, the BJP and All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) have also called for a Ranchi bandh (shutdown) on Thursday (27 March).
