Avalanche and snowfall warning issued for parts of Norway on Friday (02 January)

As per reports, Norway’s northern regions forecast to experience considerable avalanche danger and moderate snowfall on Friday (02 January).

• Orange level warningfor Avalanche danger has been issued from 0000 hours local time (2200 Hours UTC) onwards, wind-drifted snow (slab avalanches) and persistent weak layers are expected across Troms, Finnmarkskysten, Lyngen, Nord-Troms, Vest-Finnmark, and Sør-Troms. Roads and settlements in avalanche-prone terrain may be affected as per warning.
• Yellow level warning for snowfall forecast in parts of Troms and Vesterålen from 0102 hours Local time to 1300 hours local time (0002 hours UTC to 1200 hours UTC), leading to reduced visibility, snow drifts on roads, and potentially hazardous driving conditions.
