As per reports, two men allegedly attempted to rob an ATM in Nagaur district, Rajasthan, at around 0213 hours (local time) on Monday (28 September). The suspects reportedly entered the ATM booth and began damaging the machine in an attempt to access the cash.
• The bank’s e-surveillance system detected suspicious activity and triggered an alert, which was received by the bank’s security officer in the Ajmer region at around 0200 hours (local time).
• The security officer informed branch manager, who reached the ATM booth, found the two suspects inside and pulled down the shutter from outside before contacting police.
• Police subsequently opened the shutter and arrested the suspects. The incident reportedly occurred while approximately INR 16 lakh in cash was stored inside the ATM. Police are investigating the attempted robbery.
