ATM fraud suspect arrested in Greater Noida on Sunday (27 September)

According to reports, police in Rabupura, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, arrested a person on Sunday (27 September) for allegedly conducting ATM card theft and fraud operations targeting bank customers.

• Police recovered 68 ATM cards belonging to various banks and a knife during the arrest. Investigators stated that the suspect allegedly targeted individuals with limited familiarity with ATM procedures, stealing or swapping their cards before withdrawing funds from their accounts.
• The suspect used multiple methods, including observing customers’ PINs, replacing victims’ cards with other cards and manipulating ATM card readers to trap cards inside machines before retrieving them later.
