As per reports, an individual was the victim of an assault at Belleville station in the 19th arrondissement of Paris at around 1700 hours (local time) on Thursday (10 October).
• The assailants, two unidentified individuals, attacked the victim using a construction tool as an improvised weapon. An off-duty police officer intervened and, in the course of attempting to de-escalate the situation, discharged his service weapon. The attackers had fled the scene.
• The victim sustained head injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment, though the condition was not life-threatening. Authorities initiated an investigation into the incident.
