As per reports, a large-scale combing operation is currently underway in the Maoist-affected regions of Sambalpur district on Monday (09 June), particularly targeting the forested areas under Charmal and Naktideul police limits.
• Security forces have intensified their efforts following credible intelligence inputs, and drone surveillance, particularly over the Sagajuri forest area, is being employed to track potential Maoist movement in dense forest regions.
• The Special Operation Group (SOG) and District Voluntary Force (DVF) are conducting the combing operation amid reports about suspicious movements of rebels from Chhattisgarh taking refuge in these forests.
