As per reports, the indefinite strike by aanganwadi workers will continue as their talks with CM Eknath Shinde on increasing wages and granting benefits failed on Wednesday (03 January). The Maharashtra State Anganwadi Staff Action Committee, leading the agitation, stated that the possibility of a remuneration hike was outrightly rejected by Shinde. The Action Committee affirmed its decision to intensify the protest and urged widespread participation of Anganwadi workers in the ongoing agitation at Azad Maidan. Former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and former Women and Child Development Minister Varsha Gaikwad announced their support to the protest.
