The Sri Lanka’s Department of Meteorology has issued amber and yellow alert for heatwave in parts of Sri Lanka on Thursday (24 April). Affected areas are Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mannar, Mullaittivu, Vavuniya, Trincomalee, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Batticaloa, Ampara, Moneragala, Hambantota.
Yellow alert issued for Puttalam, Matale, Kurunegala, Kandy, Badulla, Nuwara Eliya, Kegalle, Gampaha, Colombo, Kalutara, Galle.
