As per reports, snowfall is predicted in parts of Four Corners and High Plains regions on Thursday (04 January) and a snowstorm is expected along the East Coast by Friday (05 January).
• Parts of New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, Texas, and Oklahoma may receive around two to four inches of snowfall on Thursday (04 January). However, areas close to the San Juan and Sangre de Cristo Mountains in New Mexico and Colorado might experience heavier snowfall of about five to 10 inches.
• A significant snowstorm is expected to intensify as it moves from the Gulf Coast toward the mid-Atlantic coast from Saturday to Sunday (06 to 07 January). During this period, heavier snow bands are anticipated in regions stretching from West Virginia and northwestern Virginia to the Hudson Valley.
• Projections suggest three to six inches of snowfall from the Smoky Mountains across much of northern and eastern West Virginia, extending to interior southern New England.
• Eastern West Virginia, central Pennsylvania, and western and central Massachusetts could experience higher snow accumulation, ranging from six to 12 inches.
• Along the I-95 corridor, cities like Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City and Boston may also receive more than one inch of snowfall.
