Access to five forest areas in Var discouraged on Thursday (22 August)

As per reports, access to five forest areas in the Var is not recommended on Thursday (22 August) due to the severe risk of fire. The forests are the Toulon mountains, Sainte Baume, Haut Var, Corniche des Maures and Maures.

• Work that could cause a fire is also prohibited, with the exception of agricultural, forestry or general interest work, until 1300 hours local time.
• Access to the four other massifs (Centre Var, Canjuers plateau, Esterel and Hyères islands) is authorized, the risk of fire being moderate.
